Genesys GT:

For just above $200, the Genesys GT is awfully full-featured, packed with a re-designed Jug Precise liner, Featherlite 2 frames from Ground Control and 56mm/90A wheels from BHC. It comes with exchangeable soul frames and backslide plates which protect the boot and can be easily replaced when worn. The groove of the backslide plate is perfectly aligned with the frame making locking on a snap and no breaking-in necessary. Combined with a hot color scheme the feature set is a win. It powers the skate to benchmarks typically seen in skates with a much higher price tag — and to an exceptional skating performance.

Features:

·         GC Featherlite 2 frames

·         Jug Precise Liner

·         Replaceable Soul frame & backslide plate

·         BHC 56mm/90A wheels

·         ABEC 3 bearings

The Aragon 3 is the third skate of Razors’ groundbreaking Superlight skate generation and comes with a host of new details and features: 2 cross beams in the backslide plate area significantly increase support and control. A new developed PU heel pad underneath the liner is ergonomically designed and dissipates any shock when slamming your foot down. An additional 6th eyelet hole allows further tightening of the skate and prevents any movement within the skate. The Aragon 3 comes with Jug’s SL liner which was specifically developed for Brian’s skate. An important new feature is a silicon grip pattern in the back which sticks to the inside wall effectively preventing slipping and shifting of the liner. Additional improvements are a more articulated ankle shape with extra high density foam to lock your foot in, a new high performance insole made of high end Polyurethane plus gel pad and a 4-point lacing system for fast entry and tight fit.

Unchanged are the amazing skate characteristics, such as a super direct contact to the ground, easy transitions and effortless performance of tricks such as backslides, royals and torques.

The new Jug Argyle liner, which has been in the works for over a year, is now available for order.

The Jug Argyle liner solves one of the most annoying problems in rolling: slipping and shifting liners. Jug developed a material with silicon grip pattern which sticks to the inside wall of the skate, effectively preventing the liner from shifting and moving.

New designed J-pads surround your ankle and look your heel in. A high rebound 15 mm foam padding adapts to the contours of your foot and provides comfort and perfect fit. Also new is a 4-point lacing system for fast entry and tight fit without endless excess cords. The Argyle liner also comes with the proven Jug Tongue Velcro System which prevents shifting of the tongue and the super comfortable Polyurethane insole with gel pads. A laminate inside the cuff area provides support and prevents the edge of the cuff to dig into your leg.

New Features:

  • Silicone grip pattern
  • J-pad ankle lock
  • High rebound foam
  • Duel density Gel footbed
  • 4-point lacing system
  • Velcro tongue lock
  • Articulated, pre-shaped tongue
  • Removable tongue insert
  • Stash pocket

The Argyle liner comes in high top (HT) and V-cut.

Everything To Do With Atlanta Rollerblading

Pilehead, Josh Waggoner, started up a blog site to document the ever growing amount of rollerblading activities in the Atlanta area. Since his passing in March of 2008 a dedicated group of friends and skaters continued with this site.  It’s one of our favorite sites for loads of reasons, mainly because it’s what it’s all about.  Check it out.

I am terribly and undescribeably sad.  Most of you have seen, met or know very well our dear friend Josh Waggoner.  Yesterday afternoon at about 2:30pm Josh fell while street skating.  His best friend, Wayne Engeron, was with him.  The fall was to his ribs first and then Josh hit his head.  He was immediately knocked unconcious.  We got the phone call from Richard Williams at about 3:30pm and gathered our kids to head to the hospital for what we thought was a concussion.  Upon arriving to the hospital we found out from Josh’s mom, Vicki, the severity of the situation was far worse.  I stayed at the hospital with about 100 of Josh’s closest friends and family.  We were allowed to visit him 3 at a time.  The night dragged on.  Spirits began to rise as we all told each other this could not be Josh’s time.

At about 1:00am Josh’s family, Wayne and Josh’s girlfriend were called back to meet with his doctor.  There was a devastating silence in the waiting room.  Finally, about 10 minutes later a hospital patient representative came into the room and told us the most unfortunate news we never wanted to hear.  Josh is not going to make it.  His brain was damaged beyond repair.  He continues to be on life support while the family makes preparations for organ donation.

Never in a million years did I want to have to write something like this.  My heart aches.  My eyes sting.  My mind cannot seem to wrap around the magnitude of losing such a sweet and loving young person.

We love you Josh!

Friday before HoHoHoes. Kevin Dowling on ledge at Woodward Skate Park. ATLiens love to roll. Any day of the week you can find a crew rolling the Woodward Skate Park at Discover Mills mall. Tuesday nights have become the main skate of the week, but from the looks of this edit by Richard Williams Fridays are hot too. Not only does Atlanta have a huge indoor park, Gwinnett County has built over 5 outdoor cement skate parks in the past few years. Pickneyville Park, Mountain Park Park, Ronald Reagan Park, Dashong Park and others. Gwinnett has plans for an additional five parks to be built over the next two years. Hamilton Mill Park should be completed by spring. This park has a vast array of bowls for your skating pleasure. We’ve heard that Rhodes Jordan Park is next on the list to have a skate park added to their venue. Don’t forget the Factory Skate Park down in Newnan, GA and Progressive Skate Park in Canton too. Clearly Atlanta has a healthy rollerblading scene. Here is the link for Gwinnett County Parks.

Here is the edit by Richard Williams for 12.7.2007. http://www.vimeo.com/422509

Does your city have a great scene? Let us know where you live and what parks you skate. We’ll post it up for everyone to see. Lot’s of rollerbladers travel and are always looking for a new place to skate.

magiccitywodjatruesoul07.jpgmagiccitysavannah07.jpgmagiccitymeetuphouse07.jpgmagiccitycollinandrig07.jpgThe Skatepile crew headed in from ATL to check out the annual Magic City Showdown.  We got there at about noon and it was raining…  So me and Josh Waggoner hung out at Sean and Charles house and watched the new Radius media DVD.  Let me just say that Chris Farmer is a wizard for sure.  The Farmer section in this video is worth buying the DVD, plus all the other clips are bad-ass.  The music was really good too.

After hanging out at Sean and Charles house, we headed to the meet up house.  It was still raining, but everyone decided they were down to skate in the rain.  A train of about 10 cars rolled out to this amazing loading dock with a square rail on the side.  This spot was seriously rad!  Skaters rolled down the hill at this beast and laced some amazing grinds, even though the rain made it super sketch.  Stand outs included Little Josh (who is not little anymore) with a royal to big 540 over the end of the loading dock, Mark Wodja with true Soul grinds all the way off the end, David Sizemore with savannahs, and alley-oop rough grinds.  Unfortunately with the late start of the event, I had to get back to ATL and leave just after the first spot.  Be sure to look online for more information about this cool grass-roots event.  Thanks to all the skaters that made this event possible.  I’ll be back for more next year.  The vibe in Bama is rad and all the skaters are super good.  Be sure to buy the new issue of Radius,  it’s amazing!
